Active Response Training for a Church Security Team 

There are prerequisites for this class that exist: each participant MUST have a CCW and have taken and passed a Basic Pistol/Handgun Safety Class. If you would like to attend and have not had either class, you may register for a class prior to this course through ETC. 

This course is specifically designed to physically & actively initially train a Church Security and Safety team to stop a threat. This is a hands-on, high-paced class that will provide instruction on:   

~  Situational Awareness within your church & during church activities   

~   Empty Hand-to-Hand fighting, disarmament & take-down proceedures   

~  Shoot and no-shoot situations   

~  Selecting a shot among no-shoot scenarios   

~  Firearm carry options and advanced shoot techniques   

~  Drawing and shooting from concealment and around obstacles   

~  Initial Trauma First Aid & Medical Treatment  

Participants wishing to take this course MUST FIRST obtain a letter from their Pastor or church administration indicating they have been granted permission and will be representing that church in this training. The letter must be provided upon registration for this course. 

This course is a full day of training. We will begin with a safety brief followed by insight and education on situational awareness. Afterwards, a physical hands-on portion of empty-hand fighting and disarmament and grappling on unarmed assailants. Then, a significant portion will be devoted to live fire range training. Finally, instruction on initial trauma first aid and immediate life saving procedures. 

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

>> Preferred semi-automatic pistol/sidearm in caliber of your choice 

>> Minimum 350 rounds of ammunition (no reloads except factory reloads permitted) - 400 rounds are recommended 

>> Sturdy belt, strong side holster or concealed carry holster rig 

>> Minimum three (3) pistol magazines; four (4) pistol magazines if low capacity 

>> Magazine pouch/magazine belt holder 

>> A cover garment such as old jacket, flannel shirt/coat or old sport coat you can wear and don't mind getting dirty, beat up or physical in (to simulate Sunday church dress) 

>> Eye and Ear Protection 

>> Ballcap or hat with a brim is recommended 

>> Proper Range Attire (This shall include comfortable clothing that will allow you movement in the physical aspects of this course. Please dress accordingly for outdoor range activities) 

>> Lunch, snacks, beverage(s) (bottle with a cap) 

Due to the popularity of this course, particiption is limited to a first-come, first-serve basis allowing up four (4) members from each church to register and provide training for a number of churches in the area. If open spaces remain, additional members from your church may participate. You will be notified if additional spaces are available by Thursday, February 27. 

Cost of the course is $100/pp (+ WV State Sales Tax).   A non-refundable ‘hold-your-spot’ deposit of $25 per person can be paid online, or the full class tuition amount via www.edwardstrainingcenter.com.
